BOYS BASKETBALL
The Blue Devils had a tough loss against Stevenson Saturday night. They look to get back in the win column this week with a home game Wednesday night against Mundelein and a Saturday afternoon home game against Libertyville.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
The Blue Devils defeated Mundelein 45-38 Friday night. On Saturday, they lost a hard fought overtime thriller against Vernon Hills 51-49. This week they have a home game Tuesday against Waukegan. On Saturday, they play home against Libertyville as part of the boys/girls doubleheader.
BOYS BOWLING
Matt Alcala and Emilio Torres represented Warren at the IHSA Sectional on Saturday. Even though they did not qualify for State, they bowled great and represented Warren well! Congratulations!
GIRLS BOWLING
The girls bowling team dropped their match 7-2 on Tuesday to Libertyville, but rebounded by sweeping Waukegan on Wednesday. The Blue Devils rolled their best 3 game dual series of the season with a 2527 total pinfall while Senior Brianna Haith led with a 641 series and a season high game of 256 (185, 256, 200). Senior Mayerli Gil shot 542 and Sophomore Rachel Flores also rolled a 534. On Saturday, the Blue Devils finished 1st in the Gold Division at the Wauconda Bowldog (get it) Invite. Senior Brianna Haith medaled 3rd for total pinfall on the day with 1189 and a 198 average for the day. The Blue Devils host Mundelein on Monday and then Zion-Benton on Wednesday to close out the conference dual-meet schedule, and then host the NSC Conference tournament on Friday at Bertrand Lanes to finish out the regular season.
CHEERLEADING
The Blue Devil Cheerleaders placed 5th in the very competitive NSC Championships Friday night at Warren. Now they are gearing up for the IHSA Sectional Saturday at Belvidere North HS.
DEVILETTES
The Devilettes are state bound! They had their best performance of the season and placed 3rd in the IHSA Sectional Saturday at Mundelein High School. The state finals are in Bloomington Friday and Saturday. Good luck Devilettes!
GYMNASTICS
The girls took on Libertyville on Wednesday and had a great performance for senior night. Freshman Olivia Kaether placed 2nd on vault with a 9.05, 1st on beam with an 8.95, second on floor with an 8.9 and 2nd all around. The JV team competed at Riverside Brookfield on Friday and did great. Alexis Krueger placed on vault, beam, and All Around. The NSC Championship is this Thursday at Stevenson.
BOYS SWIMMING & DIVING
The Blue Devil were off from competition this week and had a good week of practice.
The Devils are home Tuesday against Zion. On Thursday, they travel to Stevenson.
WRESTLING
Frosh Wrestling Update: The freshmen participated in a block weight event on Saturday. Warren won 14 of 29 matches. Outstanding wrestlers were DJ Neely and Charlie Manilay both going 3-0. Also doing well were Mike Moberg 2-1 and Zack Piszkiewicz 2-1.
Soph Wrestling Update: Sophomores wrestled in the Ott Bay Wrestling Tournament in Waukegan over the weekend. Sean Stichauf and Nevan Mitrovic each placed third for the Blue Devils.
- Wrestling Update: The varsity wrestlers placed 4th at the Lake County wrestling tournament over the weekend. Half of the wrestlers competing placed individually in the tournament for the Blue Devils. Senior Cameron Domke and Junior Joel Vandervere won championships. Junior Isaiah Parker also made it to the finals and continued a red hot second half of the season. Senior Armando Barrandey placed fourth, Junior Zach Dabney placed fifth, and senior Gino Ortiz placed sixth in the tournament. Once again this Friday, January 31 is senior night and you Blue Devils will be wrestling Mundelein in the main gym. Come support your seniors as the wrestlers battle for the final time in front of a home crowd.
