BOYS BASKETBALL
The Varsity Boys Basketball team lost on a buzzer beater to Lake Forest on Tuesday night 53-51. Juan DelaCruz led the Blue Devils in scoring with 20 points. On Friday night the Varsity lost to Zion and Seamus Mellican led Warren scoring with 12 points. On Saturday night the Blue Devils traveled to Naperville Central and came away with a win 45-38. Adnan Sarancic was the leading scorer with 18 points. The Sophomores continued their winning way with victories over Lake Forest, Zion and Naperville Central. The Freshmen also had wins over Lake Forest and Zion. The Blue Devils are at Lake Zurich on Wednesday. They are home Friday against Stevenson. On Saturday, they travel to Jacobs High School.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
The Blue Devils lost their regular season finale to Lake Zurich 46-33. IHSA Regionals get underway this week with the Devils with the Devils playing Fremd High School Tuesday at 6 PM at Fremd.
GIRLS BOWLING
On Saturday, Senior Briana Haith represented Warren in the IHSA Sectional hosted by Zion. While she did not qualify for the state meet, she had a great season! Congratulations to Briana!
GYMNASTICS
Freshman Olivia Kaether qualified for the IHSA State meet in the vault! An outstanding accomplishment, especially for a freshman. Olivia will compete in the state finals Friday and Saturday at Palatine High School. Good luck to Olivia!
BOYS SWIMMING & DIVING
The varsity took 5th place and the JV took 3rd place at the NSC Swimming & Diving Championships. In JV diving, Michael Domke took 2nd place and Wesley Tunelius finished in 3rd place. On the varsity level, Blake Vanderjeugdt placed 3rd Spencer Burton finished in 5th place.
In the swimming portion, the JV medal winners were:
200 Medley Relay: 3rd place - Jake Snyder, Marty Stumpf, Drew Kilcullen, Natan Weiner
200 Free: 4th place Drew Kilcullen, 5th place Jack Tarantino
50 Free: 5th place Natan Weiner
100 Fly: 4th place Drew Kilcullen and broke the JV record
500 Free: 4th place Jack Tarantino
200 Free Relay: 3rd place - Natan Weiner, Drew Kilcullen, Jake Snyder, Quinn Dolan
100 Backstroke: 5th place - Natan Weiner
On the Varsity Level, the medal winners were:
NSC sportsmanship award: Riley Nebel
200 Free: 6th place - Jack Foster
100 Free: 6th place - Jack Foster
100 Breaststroke: 6th place - Alex Carruthers.
Next up is the IHSA Sectionals on Saturday at Highland Park High School.
WRESTLING
The wrestling team had a great weekend with 3 wrestlers qualifying for the IHSA State Finals in Champaign this weekend. Joel Vandervere was the Sectional Champion at the 138 lb. weight class. Cameron Domke took 3rd in the 132 lb weight class. Isaiah Parker also took third in the 150 lb. weight class. Good Luck this weekend!
