9/6 Fall Sports Update

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

The boys cross country team lost to Lake Zurich 24-31.  Top finishers for the Devils were Luke Wiley and Griffin Pasha.  The team ran well and went 3-4 & 7-8.  Next up is Stevenson on Tuesday and Carmel on Saturday.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

The girls cross country team was unable to secure a victory this week. They lost to Lake Zurich on Tuesday and fell to Grayslake on Saturday. Congratulations go out to Nikki Harrison, Mia Pasha, Taylor Latza, Athena McGinn, and Melissa Cote for placing in the top 10 on Saturday. Also congratulations to freshman Emma Leung and Sophomores Kylie Florance and Olivia Buccelli for making their first varsity appearances. The girls are in a big block of training right now and are racing on tired legs. They will look to have a solid performance against Stevenson on Tuesday.

 BOYS GOLF

Varsity lost at Lake Zurich Wednesday 149 to 174. Top scores were Andreas Ackron 40, Nick Steinhilber 41, Parker Martin 46 and Andrew Cadiena 47.  On Thursday, Varsity lost 185-163 at Stevenson. Andreas Ackron and Nick Steinhilber shot 42 while 3 other golfers shot 52.  The JV team lost to Stevenson 182-172.  Vaughn Hartnig shot a 43, Charlie Badgley a 46, Nick Capita a 46, and Tristan Knoll a 47.   It is a busy week coming up with the team playing Waukegan Tuesday, Vernon Hills Wednesday, Mundelein Thursday and Lake Zurich Friday. WHEW!

GIRLS GOLF

The Varsity Girls lost to Stevenson on Thursday. Low score for Warren was sophomore Alaina Goeden with a 45. Other Varsity players included senior Sydney Bornhorst, junior Mia Bornhorst, and sophomores Mia Cosnotti, Ally Badgley, and Gracie Haupt. Low score for JV was junior Kylee Wiltse with a 52. Also scoring for JV were freshman Sophia Pas, junior Olivia Pas, and sophomore Josie Leibfried. Warren hosts Waukegan on Tuesday and travels to Mundelein on Thursday.

GIRLS TENNIS

Blue Devil Varsity had a great week by sweeping Grant 7-0 and defeating Carmel 5-2. Here are the results of those matches:

The JV team defeated Grant and Grayslake Central this week.  Both the JV and JVII teams remain undefeated!  This week the varsity and JV take on Zion and Lake Zurich.  JV II takes on Grayslake North.  They will also host a quad against Grayslake North, Grayslake Central, and Carmel HS on Saturday.

GIRLS SWIMMING & DIVING

Both the varsity and JV teams lost to Stevenson on Saturday. The girls swam and dove hard.  Senior Anni Stingle placed first in the 100 Butterfly. Junior Grace Bevers touched out and place 1st in the 100 backstroke.  Next up is Zion on Saturday.
