9/20 Fall Sports Update

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

The boys ran all over Carmel on Wednesday winning 15-48.  The Devils took 1st through 6th place.  Luke Wiley led the way for Warren.  Followed by Cole Kaether, Owen Skorazewski, David Lara, Nathan Garcia, and Ryan Allayasir.   This week, Warren hosts Mundelein on Wednesday and run in the Grant Triangular on Saturday.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

The girls cross-country team was victorious over Waukegan Tuesday.  This week they run against Mundelein on Tuesday.  On Saturday, they compete in the Grant Triangular.

 BOYS GOLF

 The varsity boys golf team faced tough competition this week losing to Libertyville 176-166 at home and losing to defending state champs, Lake Forest 161-146. The Devils also finished 3rd of 5 teams at the Merit Club 18 hole Invite on Monday. At Merit Club, Andreas Ackron earned a 10th place medal, shooting 83.  Against Libertyville, Parker Martin was the top scorer with a 42. Against Lake Forest, Nick Steinhilber and Andreas Ackron both shot 39.  The JV team went 1-2 this week. They had a big win over Libertyville on Tuesday 192-196. Top scorers were Charlie Badgley - 45, Alex Welder - 47, Vaughn Hartnig - 50, and Timmer Griesser - 50.  On Thursday, they lost to Lake Forest 169-186. Top scorers were Tristan Knoll - 46, Timmer Griesser - 46, Adam Juarez- 47, and Kole Weinberg - 47.  On Friday, Warren lost to Lake Zurich 182-186. Top scorers were Vaughn Hartnig - 46, Nick Carpita - 46, Charlie Badgley - 47, and Alex Welder - 47.  This week they take on Waukegan Monday, Lakes Tuesday, Carmel Thursday, and go to the Lake Forest Invite Saturday.

GIRLS GOLF

The girls golf team beat Carmel 180-197 at Brae Loch last Monday. Top scorers: Sydney Bornhorst 41, Alaina Goeden 44, Kylee Wiltse 47, and Mia Cosnotti 48. JV also won. Top JV scores: Sophia Pas 53, Josie Leibfried 54, Megan Flesher 62, and Olivia Pas 67. The Devils then beat Libertyville by one-stroke at Veterans Memorial. Top scorers: Sydney Bornhorst 45, Alaina Goeden 45, Mia Cosnotti 47, and Ally Badgley 48. The JV team lost. Top scores were Josie Leibfried 55, Gracie Haupt 55, Olivia Pas 61, and Dede Colon 68.  Warren lost its final match of the week to Lake Forest 170-204 at Bittersweet. Varsity scores included: Sydney Bornhorst 50, Mia Bornhorst 50, Mia Cosnotti 52, Kylee Wiltse 52. JV also lost a 6-hole match. JV scores included: Sophia Pas 32, Gracie Haupt 36, Maddy Fezatte 38, and Josie Leibfried 38. This week the team plays Lake Zurich on Monday, Lakes & Antioch on Tuesday, and Wauconda on Wednesday.

GIRLS TENNIS

On Monday, both the Varsity and JV defeated Carmel for the 2nd time this year for a very strong win. 

The Varsity and JV both lost to Stevenson but all played very competitive matches.  The JV team  won a Carmel Tri on Saturday against Mundelein and Carmel.  Here are the scores from the Carmel match:

This week the Devils have a busy week.  On Monday they take on Antioch.  On Tuesday, Wauconda comes to town.  On Wednesday, they go against Waukegan. Thursday is against Lake Forest Academy.  Finally, on Saturday, the girls go against Mundelein HS.


GIRLS SWIMMING & DIVING

Both Varsity and JV lost to Lake Forest on Saturday.   The Devils did have some great swims. On JV, Faith Cabalfin had a great day. She placed 2nd in both the 100 Butterfly and 100 yard backstroke.  Senior Claire DeJong crushed the 500 freestyle dropping over 20 seconds in her swim and finishing 1st place! On Varsity, Diver Kayleigh Glickley placed 2nd. Grace Bevers had an outstanding meet. She finished in top in 3 out of 4 of her events. Nearly a perfect day for her. Shannon Faulhaber swam her heart out in the 500 freestyle just missing her personal best by a 3 tenths of a second. The entire team did a great job.  This week. Warren will host Mundelein on Saturday.
