BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
The Blue Devil cross-country team defeated Mundelein 16-46. Top finishers for Warren were Griffin Pasha, Luke Wiley, and Max Zeisler. Both the Varsity and JV teams won the Grant Invite on Saturday. Top finishers for Varsity were Luke Wiley, Griffin Pasha, Max Zeisler, Cole Kaether, and Nate Garcia. For the JV, Ryan Alyassir and Jake Snyder led the way for the Blue Devils. On Wednesday, the Devils
host Libertyville.
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
On Tuesday, the girls cross-country team easily defeated Mundelein. On Saturday, they competed at Grant. They won that meet defeating Grant, Deerfield, and Marian Central. Raina Rice, Taylor Latza, Nikki Harrison, and Emma Leung all finished in the top ten for Warren. This week they host Libertyville and on Saturday they compete in a tri at Grayslake Central.
BOYS GOLF
Varsity golf had a good week. On Monday, they defeated Waukegan 175-198. Top scorers were Parker Martin and Drew Evitts. On Tuesday, Warren defeated Lakes 173-186. Top scorers were Nick Steinhilber and Andreas Ackron. On Thursday, the Devils lost at Bittersweet to Carmel 160-164. 164 is tied for our lowest score at home this season. On Saturday, the boys played in an 18 hole tournament at Lake Forest, finishing 7th out of 11 with a 334. However, only 6 shots separated 7th place from 3rd place. The top scores were Andreas Ackron 78 (7th out of 66 golfers) and Nick Steinhilber 80. Next week is the NSC Championship Meet on Tuesday at Veterans Memorial golf course.
GIRLS GOLF
The team had a busy week competing in three matches. On Monday, the team traveled to Village Green to play Lake Zurich and lost a close one, 188-185. Leading scorers were: Sydney Bornhorst 43, Mia Bornhorst 44, Ally Badgley 50, and Alaina Goeden & Mia Cosnotti 51. Leading scorers for JV were: Sophia Pas 50, Gracie Haupt 50, Josie Leibfried 56, and Olivia Pas 63. On Tuesday, the team hosted Antioch & Lakes and both Varsity and JV won both matches. Varsity shot 190 and JV shot 207. Leading scorers for Varsity: Alaina Goeden 43, Sydney Bornhorst 46, Mia Bornhorst 50, and Sophia Pas 51. Leading scorers for JV: Gracie Haupt 46, Kylee Wiltse 52, Josie Leibfried 54, and Olivia Pas 55. On Wednesday, the team defeated Wauconda 182-185 at Bittersweet. Top scorers: Gracie Haupt 43, Sophia Pas 46, Mia Bornhorst 45, and Sydney Bornhorst 48. JV was also victorious. Top scorers: Kylee Wiltse 53, Ally Badgley 53, Josie Leibfried 55, and Olivia Pas 62. This week the team plays in the NSC Tournament and hosts its Varsity Blue Devil Invite on Oct. 3rd.
GIRLS TENNIS
Tennis had a very busy but successful week going 12-0 at all levels! Varsity and JV had wins over Antioch, Wauconda, Waukegan, Lake Forest Academy, and Mundelein bringing their season record to 9-2. Program-wide, the girls are now an impressive 29-3 for the year. They have another busy week ahead with Grayslake North, Libertyville, Lake Zurich, and Lake Forest.
GIRLS SWIMMING & DIVING
Both varsity and JV teams defeated Mundelein. It was an awesome day for the Devils! The team stepped up and did their job! The JV team placed first in all but 3 events! Most of the events Warren won, they went 1,2 in. All the JV girls did an amazing job. On Varsity, the phrase of the day was to do your job. The girls did just that. They placed where they needed to place and pulled out the victory. Freshman Aubrey Korzyniewski, finished on top in the 50 free nearly swimming a whole second faster than everyone else! Senior Anni Stingle placed 1st in both the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly. Juniors Hailey Benoit and Chloe Yoder battled it out in the 100 freestyle where they went 1,2 helping the Blue Devils come out with the victory. All the girls did a fantastic job. It was a proud day for the Blue Devil Swimmers! This week, they take on Waukegan.
