WRESTLING
My coaching season (Brad Janecek) is always my vampire season because I do not see the light of day for 4 months. It is interesting walking out of a gym on a Friday night in shorts and still seeing daylight! Congratulations to Zach Dabney and Nate Kowalke-Reinwald. Both seniors had excellent four year careers with the Warren Wrestling team. Additionally Zach will be taking his wrestling talents to Northern Ohio University. The Warren grapplers just passed the half way point of this year and now we only have three weeks left. Friday evening the Blue Devils wrestled Mundelein. Zach Sutor lost a match on a close call and Nevin Mitrovic pulled out a dominating win over the Mustangs. Junior Reyes Gonzales continues to improve and won with a pin. On Saturday the grapplers were hosted by the Cougars of Vernon Hills. Both teams have spotty line ups and were only able to get about 20 matches in. Reyes Gonzales won a close match with a 3-2 decision. Freshmen Joey DeVries one another varsity match as a frosh at 220. Dabney and Mitrovic also had wins as part of their perfect weekend. Dual meets against Libertyville, Grayslake North, and Wauconda this coming week.
