BOYS CROSS COUNTRY:
The Boys team split on Tuesday. They lost to Stevenson, but defeated Lake Zurich. On Saturday, the varsity team finished 5th in Warren’s Bill Dawson Invite. They were led by Bryan Holland and Griffin Pasha. The JV team finished in 3rd place. They were led by Liam McArthur, Esteban Padilla, and Sam Yoder. The frosh/soph team finished in 11th place. They were led by Luke Wiley. The Devils have a make- up meet at Lake Forest on Tuesday and then travel to Janesville Wisconsin on Saturday for the Craig High School invite.
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY:
The Blue Devils had a very successful weekend at the Bill Dawson invite. In the Frosh/Soph run, Warren ran only freshmen and got first place by 49 points! The JV finished in third place and the varsity finished a respectable 7th place in the 26 team tournament. The runners were led by: Athena McGinn, Raina Rice, Chloe Sturt, Abbey Ryner, Sophia Iaconis, and Nicole Cuevas. The girls will take on Lake Forest on Tuesday and travel to Craig HS in Janesville, Wisconsin on Saturday.
FOOTBALL:
The varsity football team made it 3 in a row with a 35-0 victory over Libertyville. It was a clean sweep for the Devils as the sophomore and freshman levels also won. The Devils travel to Lake Forest on Friday night.
BOYS GOLF:
The varsity golfers won the Midlane Invite with a 1 stroke victory over Lake Forest. On Monday Warren hosts a 6 team Invite at Merit Club. The Devils host Carmel on Thursday and travel to Lake Forest on Saturday for the Scouts own Invitational.
GIRLS GOLF:
The varsity girls had an amazing on Thursday as they crushed Mundelein at Bittersweet. They broke a school record by shooting a 162, beating the old record by three strokes. Junior Chloe Morrissey shot a school record 34. Freshman Erica Baker became the first freshman golfer in Warren history to break 40 by shooting a 39. The Devils are 10-1 and in 2nd place in the conference. The girls host Grant on Monday and are in the Rolling Meadows Invitational on Saturday.
BOYS SOCCER:
The boys lost a tough one to Libertyville 5-0. But the came back on Saturday to challenge Evanston to a 1-1 tie. The boys travel to Lake Forest on Thursday and Carmel on Friday.
GIRLS SWIMMING & DIVING:
The swimmers had a clean sweep over Libertyville this week. The JV2 team won 99-75. The JV team won 114-69. The varsity also had a huge win over the Wildcats 105-80. On Thursday, the Devils take on Lake Forest. Next Saturday the varsity competes in the Lake County Invitational.
GIRLS TENNIS:
The varsity had a great week going 5-1. They defeated Zion, Carmel, Palatine, Hononegah, and Crystal Lake Central. Overall they are 10-2 on the season. There were standout performances by Olivia Wong, Linsey Janet, Nisha Shiroor, Frankie Grimes, Aneri Shah, and Jiji Steinlein. The JV and frosh/soph teams also competed well against Carmel, Lake Forest and Zion. They also had a good showing at the home quad on Saturday and at the Libertyville Invite. This week the Devils take on Lake Zurich, Round Lake, Grayslake North, and Stevenson. On Saturday the varsity will be at the Crystal Lake Invite, the JV will be at the Niles North quad, and the Frosh/Soph will be hosting a quad.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL:
The varsity volleyball team went 3-2 at the Maine East Tournament over the weekend. They defeated Deerfield, Prospect, and Oak Forest on Friday. Saturday, they had tough losses to De La Salle and Naperville North. The varsity still has a great 18-4 record on the season. This week the girls travel to Lake Forest on Monday and are home against Libertyville on Thursday.
