BOYS CROSS COUNTRY:
The Boys team competed on Tuesday against Zion and Mundelein. They lost to Mundelein but defeated Zion. They finished the dual portion of the season with a very tough 6-2 record. On Saturday the running Devils compete in the NSC tournament.
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY:
The girls also competed against Zion and Mundelein on Tuesday. All 7 runners finished before Zion’s first runner for a clean sweep. Then they lost a tight race against Mundelein 26-29. The girls ran great with several PR’s! It was a great way for the girls to celebrate Senior Day. Next up is the conference tournament on Saturday.
FOOTBALL:
Lets’ make it 6 in a row for the varsity football team. The Devils were leading 7-3 with just over 4 minutes left in the half when the lightning came postponing the game. There was a different type of lightning on Saturday as the Blue Devils dominated Lake Zurich with a 34-6 final score. This puts Warren 5-0 in the conference with a HUGE home showdown Friday night against Stevenson. The showdown will be one of the football games highlighted on NBC Sports Chicago’s “High School Lites” show. The program shows highlights from various games at 11 pm every Friday.
BOYS GOLF:
The Varsity boys competed in the IHSA Regional on Tuesday at Steeplechase. Kevin Borbath, Steffen Nerheim, Garrett Porter, and Garrett Maresca all qualified as individuals for the IHSA Sectionals. The Sectionals delayed today due to water on the course. The boys will compete in the Sectional Tournament on Tuesday.
GIRLS GOLF:
The Blue Devils took 3rd place at the IHSA Regional on Wednesday at Shepherds Crook qualifying as a team for the IHSA Sectional. Competing in the Sectional are Chloe Morrissey, Erica Baker, Danielle Guzman, Sydney Bornhorst, Mia Bornhorst, and Amanda Meitus. On Monday, the Blue Devils competed in the IHSA Sectional at Blackstone Golf Course in Marengo. The team finished in 7th place. Chloe Morrissey missed qualifying for the state tournament by 1 stroke as she shot an 80. The girls team had a great season and accomplished quite a bit throughout the season. Great job to all of the Blue Devils golfers for a fine season!
BOYS SOCCER:
The soccer team had 2 conference games this week. On Tuesday, they hosted Stevenson and lost 3-0. Tristin Rozwadowski had 4 saves for Warren. On Thursday, they lost 2-1 at Mundelein. The goal was scored by Luke Schoenbeunn. On Tuesday, Warren will host Round Lake and celebrate the seniors. On Thursday, the team travels to Lake Forest to take on Lake Forest Academy.
GIRLS SWIMMING & DIVING:
The swimmers & divers are gearing up for a big week. Thursday will be Senior Night for the Blue Devils. They will be hosting Stevenson. Saturday is the Warren Invitational.
GIRLS TENNIS:
The tennis team competed in the NCS Championships over the weekend. Unfortunately, the JV team was rained out. The varsity tournament was moved indoors. In doubles competition, the # 1 doubles team of Wong/Jante finished in 5th place. The # 2 doubles team of Shiroor/Grimes finished in 5tgh place. The #3 doubles team of Shah/Steinlein finished in 4th place as did the #4 doubles team of Bjorseth/Dash. One the singles side #2 singles player Meg Rubino finished in 5th place and #3 singles player Rachel Shugard finished in 4th place. The team took 5th place overall in the conference. The varsity team will compete on Friday & Saturday in the IHSA Sectional.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL:
The varsity volleyball team defeated Lake Zurich in 3 hard fought games. This raised their conference record to 4-1 and 23-5 overall. The Blue Devils host Stevenson in a conference showdown on Wednesday.
