BOYS BASKETBALL
The Varsity Boys Basketball team defeated Westosha 46-39. Adnan Sarancic led with 28 points. The Varsity lost on Saturday night to Fremd HS 64-48. Juan DeLaCruz led Warren in scoring with 14 points and Adnan Sarancic added 12 points. This week the Devils travel to Waukegan Tuesday for a NSC showdown. Warren travels to Libertyville Friday night with the Varsity boys playing at 7 PM. The varsity girls play at Libertyville also at 5:30. Come on out for an exciting doubleheader!
GIRLS BASKETBALL
The girls lost a tough game to Stevenson 56-34. Macy Kocen was the leading scorer for the Devils. The Devils came back tough on Friday night defeating Mundelein 55-31. Trenise Powe led the way for the Devils with 12 points. Backtracking a little, Macy Kocen was named to the New Trier Thanksgiving All- Tournament Team for the second year in a row. The Devils hit the road with a Tuesday game at Woodstock North. On Wednesday, they are at Waukegan. On Friday, they play the first game at Libertyville.
BOYS BOWLING
The Blue Devils defeated Mundelein 2690-2464. The Devils were led by Ethan Kailin with a 649 series. Matt Alcala rolled his way to a 601 series. The Blue Devils also defeated Lake Zurich 2824 to 2764. Ethan Kailin bowled an impressive 720 series. Jarret Smith came through with a 582 series for Warren. The JV team also defeated Lake Zurich 2173 to 1788. Mason Tokarz and Reid Wilson led the Blue Devils with 494 and a 492 series. On Saturday, Ethan Kailin placed 8th for the Devils. Up next is Waukegan and Libertyville on Monday and Tuesday at Bertrands. Saturday is the Blue Devil Invite also at Bertrands.
GIRLS BOWLING
The girls started their season on Monday with a win against Grant 2163 to 1973. Brianna Haith led the way with a 508 series. Jocelyn Parra-Avila rolled a 442 series. The girls kept it rolling with a win over Lake Zurich 2355 to 2246. Brianna Haith again led the way with a 584 series. Rachel Flores-Managaran bowled a 460 series for Warren. This is a busy week for the girls. On Monday they host Stevenson. They are at Mundelein and Libertyville on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Plainfield East Invite is Saturday.
CHEERLEADING
The cheerleaders opened up the season at Crystal Lake Central. Both levels did well. The varsity finished in 7th place overall. The JV team finished in 4th place. Next week, they compete at the Stevenson Invitational.
DEVILETTES
The Devilettes traveled to Minooka on Saturday for a 30 team competition. The varsity placed 13th place overall. They improved their score by 8 points from their last competition. The JV team placed 10th out of 20 teams. Next up is a Sunday competition at Stevenson High School.
GYMNASTICS
The girls gymnastics team opened the season against Lake Zurich and Lake Forest. The girls took 3rd place. Sharon Dhali competed a new vault, scoring a 9.1 and earning 2nd place! Warren’s next meet is Thursday at Mundelein. The Conant Invite is on Saturday.
BOYS SWIMMING & DIVING
The boys had two meets this weekend. They dove and swam very well.
On Friday, the divers they placed 4th in the Diver Relay (Spencer Burton and Blake Vander-Jeudgt). On Saturday, the divers placed second in the Diver Relays for Frosh/Soph (Blake Vander-Jeudgt and Michael Domke) and the Varsity relays ( Spencer Burton and Welsey Tunelius)
For Swimming on Friday, the Frosh/Soph relay medley relay placed 3rd: Robert Carlson, Evan Burndt, Caleb Levy, and Ryan Sundburg. On Saturday, the sophomores swam very well. The sophomore medley relay placed 3rd: Jake Snyder, Evan Burndt, Robert Carlson, and Ryan Sundburg. Junior Dante Rinaldi placed 3rd in the Junior Class 50 freestyle.
The entire team did great. They are looking forward to this season on how they can grow and become faster! The Devils take on Waukegan at Waukegan on Thursday.
WRESTLING
The Varsity team easily defeated Waukegan on Friday. On Saturday, the competed at the Plainfield South Tournament. They defeated Prospect, Stagg, and Plainfield South High Schools. They lost to a very tough Lemont team. On the freshmen level, Warren defeated Waukegan 66-18. Improving their record to 5-1. Wonderful performance were by: Sam Sellers, who executed a perfect snap down to a shuck for a takedown. He pinned his opponent. Joe Sheery, winning his first match with a snap down, and 2 on 1 half pin. Spencer Daniels, single leg takedown and a pin of his opponent. Greg Halakekis who executed a perfect Jobst finish for a takedown and pinned his opponent. Warren came in fourth place at the Palatine Tournament with three champions, each going 3-0. They were: Zack Piskiewicz, Spencer Daniels, and Omar Abdel-Jabler. Also having good performances were: Mike Moberg 2-1, DJ Neely 2-1, Kevin Alvarado 2-1, and Paul Viena 1-2. This week, the Devils are at home against Lake Forest. On Saturday, the varsity is in the Downers Grove South Invite.
