10/29/2022 The Blue Devils competed with everything they had at the IHSA Sectional Meet at Busse Woods. 4 out of 7 runners had season bests at the most important meet of the season, which is all you can ask for. Congratulations to an incredible season everyone! The Blue Devils placed 9th overall in one of the toughest competition fields in the state. Big congratulations to Mia Pasha on placing 11th overall and punching her ticket to the IHSA State Meet next week. Super proud of everyone of the athletes who competed. 10/22/2022 Regional Champions!!! The Blue Devils kicked off the IHSA State Series with an incredible performance to win the IHSA Regional Meet. Mia Pasha placed 4th overall to lead the way. Freshman Kate Mondejar came in 12th place with an impressive time of 19:46. The pack of Kylie Florance, Emma Leung, Emily Towson, Lia Tondeva, and Caralyn Whalen secured the victory, with the time in between 3rd through 6th only being 38 seconds!!! Way to go Blue Devils!! 10/15/2022 The North Suburban Conference Meet was held this year at Lake Forest High School. The Lady Blue Devils did not disappoint! Improving from last year, the Varsity Squad placed 2nd overall out of the 8 team conference. All-Conference Runners included Mia Pasha (2nd Overall), Kate Mondejar (10th place), and Kylie Florance (18th). The Blue Devils finished the season with a combined score of 6-1 in Conference meets to place 2nd overall as a whole team! An incredible accomplishment. The Frosh/Soph team placed 3rd overall in a tough conference field. Led by Justyce Sieber (6th place), Savanna Swietlik (9th place), Karina Tondeva (11th), Shelby Steggerda (12th), Elizabeth Mertz (26th), and Isabel Jimenez (27th). The Open race closed out the day with a victory and 1st place overall in the conference. Congratulations to Dara-Santin Zendejas for winning the Open race with a time of 21:50. An exciting way to conclude the Conference Meet!! 10/6/2022 Under the Lights!! The Blue Devils raced in the dark at Lake Forest High School in a weeknight invitational. Fun times and a fast 2 mile course led to the Blue Devils competing well! The Varsity team placed 4th as a team, led by Kylie Florance placing 15th and Lia Tondeva placing 20th. The JV team placed 2nd overall, led by Justyce Sieber (5th), Karina Tondeva (13th), Dara Santin-Zendejas (14th), and Shelby Steggerda (15th). Our Open team won the race as a team! Congratulations to Senior Kassandra Rodriguez on placing 1st place in the race. Kassandra was followed closely by Grace Metcalf (3rd), Delaney Juenger (4th), and Isabel Jimenez (5th). Overall, a really fun and exciting meet! 10/4/2022 To conclude the NSC dual meet season, the Blue Devils competed against the Bulldogs of Waukegan High School at their sports complex. The Blue Devils came out victorious with an almost sweep against Waukegan. This meet concluded a 5-2 conference record, mainly without the Varsity runners. Congratulations to the JV and Frosh/Soph runners for leading the Blue Devils to victory and a chance at the conference title. 10/1/2022 The Blue Devils Competed at 2 separate meets this weekend. Our JV & Open team went up North to go compete at the Pat Harland Antioch Invitational in Wisconsin. The JV team placed 2nd overall, with strong performances by Justyce Sieber (6th place), Karina Tondeva (7th place), Savana Swietlik (9th place), Shelby Steggerda (12th place), Madi Tyler (28th place), and Lizzie Mertz (30th place). In the Open Race, the Blue Devils came out with the win-earning 1st place! Jiselle Cochon took 1st place in the race with a time of 24:51, followed by Isabella Jimenez in 2nd place and Isabella Gibbs in 3rd. Rounding out the scoring was Khiran Bhalla in 5th place and Jasmine Salas in 15th overall. The Varsity Team competed down south at the Peoria Invitational. Led by Mia Pasha's 6th place finish with a time of 17:22, the Blue Devils placed 9th out of a deep 23 team field. The Warren Blue Devils snuck out with the victory. Senior Mia Pasha and Freshman Kate Mondejar went 1-2 in the race; followed closely by Kylie Floracne finishing 4th. Some big races from Dara Santin-Zendejas, Shelby Steggerda, Delaney Juenger, and Elizabeth Mertz in the middle of the pack. Huge personal bests from Freshman Jasmine Salas and Freshman Aria Piktel as well. 9/24/2022 The Lady Blue Devils competed at the Janesville Invitational up in Wisconsin. The Varsity team placed 23rd within a deep field of 39 teams. A tight pack from Kylie Florance, Kate Mondejar, Emma Leung, Jocelyn Schenk, Morgan Vawter, and Grace Wiser helped secure the place. The Junior Varsity Blue Race Team took 2nd overall!! Led by Junior Emily Towson (7th place) and Senior Lia Tondeva (8th place). In the Junior Varsity White Race, the team finished 22nd overall; Led by Senior Delaney Juenger and Freshman Isabel Jimenez. Overall, most girls finisehd with a 3 mile PR within the 5k race!! Nice job everyone. 9/17/2022 The Girls Cross Country Team competed at the honorary Bill Dawson Invitational; in honor of the late and legendary Warren Coach Bill Dawson. The lady blue devils gave it their all, with an impressive team performance on all levels. The Frosh/Soph Team finished in 2nd place overall, led by Jocelyn Schenk, who finished 4th overall. Justyce Sieber also placed well; finishing in 10th place. Freshman Karina Tondeva, Shelby Steggerda, and Elizabeth Mertz all had big days with huge PR's set for all 3 of them in the race. Varsity placed 3rd overall. Senior Mia Pasha finished 2nd overall in the Varsity Race. Freshman Kate Mondejar, Sophomore Grace Wiser, and Senior Kylie Florance helped with a strong pack towards the front to secure 3rd overall in a competitive race. Our Junior Varsity Team also finished in 3rd place. Led by Juniors Emma Leung (2nd Place) and Ellie Hanner(6th place), the team was only 4 points out of 2nd place. Senior Caralyn Whalen and Junior Dara Santin-Zendejas also had strong performances. 9/10/2022 The Girls Cross Country Team competed in their first invite of the 2022 season. The Warren Girls XC Team attended the Wauconda Invite at Matthews Middle School to compete against close to 20 teams. Our Varsity squad, led by seniors Kylie Florance and Lia Tondeva, Placed 4th overall and had 4 athletes place in the top 30 runners of the race, with one not too far out of 30th place as well. In the open race, our two juniors Emma Leung and Dara Santin-Zendejas, led the way to Warren finishing in 3rd place as a team (in easily the hottest race of the day). All of our Open runners placed in the top 75 of a packed race; leading to some awesome awards after the race. The day was highlighted by the Girls Frosh/Soph team placing 2nd overall in the meet. Led by Freshman Kate Mondejar (5th place) and Sophomore Grace Wiser (7th place); the team had a tremendous performance overall. This includes big races (with some PR's) from Sophomores Joselyn Schenk, Justyce Sieber, and Freshman Karina Tondeva. 9/6/2022 The Girls Cross Country Team competed at their first North Suburban Conference Meet of the season. Warren Girls faced the Wildcats of Libertyville and the Mustangs of Mundelein. The Girls team came away with the split at the meet (beating one team and losing to the other). Congratulations to Lia Tondeva for leading the Blue Devils by placing 10th place with a time of 20:29. Joselyn Schenk, Emily Townson, Emma Leung, Justyce Sieber, Kassandra Rodriguez, and Karina Tondeva all helped secure a victory for the Blue Devils. Other notable performances include Grace Metcalf running 24:00, Savana Swietlik running a 24:10, and Michela Schenk running a 26:14. 8/26/2022 The Girls Cross Country Team had their first meet of the season on Thursday at Deerfield High School. Athletes ran in either a 2 mile or 3 mile race. Congratulations to all first time Cross Country athletes on completing your first high school race. Some standout performances include Freshman Shelby Steggerda and Isabel Jimenez in the 2 mile race; running 16:37 and 16:40 respectfully. Lauren Boznos ran an impressive 17:37 in her first ever race as well. In the 3 mile race, Freshman Kate Mondejar placed 6th overall in the entire race with a time of 20:53. Check back here to see updates and meet information during this upcoming season. 10/12/2021 Meet information sheet for NSC Conference Meet: NSC Conference Information Sheet 10/11/2021 Dual Meet against Lake Forest & Waukegan on 10/5 The Warren Girls Cross Country Team were the champions overall of their last tri meet of the season! A perfect way to cap off the tri meet schedule and be primed for conference. The Blue Devils won against Waukegan, sweeping with a score of 15-45, and beating Lake Forest with a score of 26-32. Strong performances from the Blue Devils, as we earned 4th place, 6th place, and 9th place in the race on the home stretch of the race. The 2 wins on Tuesday puts the Blue Devils in the hunt for placing at the top of the conference meet on the 16th of October. 10/2/2021 9/28- Tri Meet against Zion/Zurich The Girls Cross Country Team competed against Zion-Benton and Lake Zurich on Tuesday. Although losing to both teams, the Blue Devils ran smart and competed hard. Congratulations to Mia Pasha, Emma Leung, and Chloe Yoder for leading the Blue Devils. 10/2 Your Girls Cross Country Team competed at 2 meets this weekend on Saturday. The team competed at the Pat Harland Invite hosted by Antioch High School. The team placed 4th out of 12 in the JV team. Shout out to Grace Metcalf, Dara-Santin-Zendejas, and Jiselle Cochon on placing in the top 30. In the Open Race, the Girls Cross Country Team took 2nd place! Congratulations to Savanna Sweitlik, Fatima Naveed, Khiran Bhalla , and Isabella Gibbs for placing top 20. Way to go to all the girls competing at Antioch for placing top 5 as a team in both races. The Varsity team traveled down to Peoria to compete at the Peoria Invitational. Facing some of the best teams in the state, The Blue Devils placed 8th out of 28 teams. All 7 competitors competed well and ran a very sound and fast race. Led by Mia Pasha, finishing 11th in the race, the Blue Devils also had Freshman Emma Leung and Viktoria Higgins place in the top 30. The Warren Girls Cross Country competed at the 48 team Janesville Invitational on Saturday. The Girls all competed well and ran their hearts out. Overall, most of the team ran a PR for the season on a 5K course!! Incredibly impressive and well deserved for these hard working young ladies. Shout out to Emma Leung for winning the Blue Race and Mia Pasha for placing 3rd in Varsity. So many great races in Blue, White, and Varsity races to name them all, so shout out to the whole team for a great meet! The Blue Devils will be competing at numerous fun locations next week. 9/19/2021 Libertyville/Mundelein Tri Meet The Girls Cross Country ran at a tough course at Adler park on Tuesday. We split the meet, beating Mundelein with a score of 20-32, but lost to Libertyville 18-36. All the girls ran smart and more importantly ran competitively. The girls got themselves ready to race fast at the Blue Devil Invitational on Saturday. Bill Dawson Invitational The Girls Cross Country Team did an outstanding job at our home invitational on Saturday 9/18! Out of 18 teams, The Frosh/Soph Team placed 6th, Varsity placed 2nd, and the JV team placed 1st overall at the meet. In a competitive field of runners, the Blue Devils showed the field they are ready to compete at all levels. All the girls ran tremendously and competed to the best of their abilities. So many great things to share about the meet. Stevenson Results 9/6/2021 The Warren Girls Cross Country Team competed at the Art Cambell Lake Country Invitational on September 1st. The majority of the schools in the county came to compete to show us an early taste of the competitiveness of the county. The Warren Girls XC team rose up to the challenge, placing 5th in the varsity and 2nd place in the open race. Our best is yet to come! Huge congratulations to Mia Pasha on placing 7th overall in the Girls varsity race and earning All-County honors. Mia ran a smart race and put herself in a strong position during the last 600 meters to take 7th, running in a time of 19:08. Other highlights from the Varsity race include Kylie Florance and Victoria Higgins running personal season bests on a tough course. Most girls on varsity ran the equivalent (or close to) of their personal season bests as well. The Varsity squad is just going to keep getting better and better! In the Open Race, 11 girls either ran personal records or completed their first 3 mile race. This includes Kiran Bhalla, Katherine Wiklund, Fatima Naveed, Lia Tondeva, Olivia Suarez, Michela and Joselyn Schenk, Dara Santin-Zendejas, Delaney Juenger, Alexandra Borland, and Isabella Gibbs. The team competed at the Deerfield Invitational and got the season off to a great start. The future of the Blue Devils looks bright! Under extremely hot temperatures and not ideal conditions, the lady blue devils had 5 (almost 6) girls place under 21 minutes in the 3 mile race.
