BOYS GOLF
It was a good week for the Varsity Boys Golf team, going 2-0 in conference matches (against Mundelein and Lake Zurich) while losing to Vernon Hills in an exhibition match and getting rained out vs Waukegan. In the 171-163 loss at Vernon Hills (White Deer Run) the top scores for WTHS were Andreas Ackron & Nick Steinhilber (42) Rohan Iyler (43), and Kevin Vrabel (44). In the 176-177 very tight win vs Mundelein at Bittersweet, top scores were Andreas Ackron and Parker Martin (43) with Nick Steinhilber and Zach Zorzy (45). The highlight of the week was the 157-168 win vs Lake Zurich at home. This was revenge for our loss last week in an exhibition match to them at their home course of Lake Barrington Shores. Nick Steinhilber shot the lowest round of the year with a 1 under par 35, with Rohan Ilyer (39) Andreas Ackron 41 and Anders Johnson 42 supporting him with strong scores. It is good time for the Devils to be playing their best now, as this week Warren faces the toughest competition of the season as we play Monday at Merit Club (18 hole 5 team tournament), Tuesday at home vs Libertyville, and Thursday face defending State Champions Lake Forest. The JV team had a great week going 2-0. On Wednesday, they defeated Vernon Hills 188-200. Top scorers were Charlie Badgley - 46, Vaughn Hartnig - 46, Logan Edgeworth - 47, and James Schmidt - 49. On Thursday, the Devils had a big conference win over Mundelein 172-187. Top scorers were James Schmidt - 42, Vaughn Hartnig - 43, Alex Welder - 43, and Charlie Badgley - 44. This week they face NSC foes Libertyville and Lake Forest.
