BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
The boys cross- country team competed in the Lake County Tournament last week. This week, they have a home meet on Wednesday against Stevenson. On Saturday, they run in the Wauconda Invitational.
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
The Warren Girls Cross Country team took 5th place in the Lake County Invite last Wednesday. They have a home meet on Wednesday against Stevenson. On Saturday, they compete in the Wauconda Invite.
FOOTBALL
Blue Devil football lost a tough one against Maine South 10-2. It was a battle against two pretty good teams they that will probably meet up again in a couple of months. The Devils travel to Zion on Friday night.
BOYS GOLF
The Boys golf team had a busy week with 1 tournament and 3 matches. On Monday they finished 2nd out of 5 teams at the Strawberry Creek Invite, shooting a season best 316. On Tuesday, they lost 156-163 to Lake Zurich at Hawthorne Woods Country Club. On Wednesday, they won 167-184 against Zion at Shepherds Crook golf course. On Thursday, they lost 157-165 at home to Stevenson. Next week they face Waukegan at home and Mundelein at Steeple Chase golf course.

- Congratulations to this week’s Warren Way Athlete of the Week, Josie Leibfried! Josie received 3 nominations in the last two weeks. We recognize Josie for her ever present positive and encouraging attitude! Not only does she work hard day in and day out to get better at golf, she is the epitome of a team player and demonstrates superior sportsmanship. Her teammates recognize this and say, “Josie goes out of her way to talk to teammates and make them feel confident if they are beginners. She is always in a good mood. She is confident, gives positive feedback and stays positive the entire match. And, even after a bad hole she continues to compliment teammates and opponents.” Thank you, Josie for continually making a positive impact on our team!
- The team has two home meets at Bittersweet this week: Carmel on Tuesday and Mundelein on Thursday.
BOYS SOCCER
Warren soccer went 2-0 this week with shutouts against Highland Park and Indian Trail. They defeated Highland Park 2-0. Ryan Stanciak Matt Hegge each scored a goal for the Devils. The Blue Devils took it Lakes 4-0. Alex Medina scored twice for Warren. Tommy Desanto and Mike Galvan each scored a goal as well. This week, Warren hosts Lakes on Tuesday, Zion on Thursday, travel to Wauconda on Saturday.
GIRLS SWIMMING & DIVING
Blue Devil swimming is gearing up for the first conference meet of the season Wednesday at Libertyville.
GIRLS TENNIS
Varsity defeated Grant, and swept the home quad vs. Grayslake Central (4-3), Carmel (5-2), Wheaten St. Francis (7-0). Varsity record now 6-0! JV1 was competitive in a loss to Evanston, and a win v Grant & LFA. They also competed very well in Barrington doubles quad. JV2 lost vs. Evanston then bounced back with a win v Mundelein later in week. Competed in Grayslake Central Quad on Saturday and did very well with a close loss to GLC, another win v Mundelein, and a tie v Cary Grove. This week they host Lakes on Wednesday and travel to Zion on Thursday. On Saturday, they compete in the Buffalo Grove Invitational.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
The varsity team took 5th place at Crosstown Invite. Their overall record of the week is 4 – 3. If you haven’t checked out a varsity home volleyball match yet this season, you are missing out! They are a very exciting team to watch.
The JV team got a big win vs. Carmel Catholic High School this week in their first match of the season. In their quad this weekend, they took 7th place, making big gains as a team as they learned how to work together and be a team.
The sophomores lost their first home game against Glenbrook North and went 1-2 in the Lake Forest quad on Saturday.
This week Volleyball is at Lakes on Tuesday night, then Wednesday we will be hosting Grant. On the weekend, there are tournaments and quads for all levels. It will be another busy week for the volleyball program.
