Shout out to JV diver Ivan Garcia-Nieto for placing 2nd in his very first meet of the season. Varsity Diver Blake Vander-Juedgt came out on top against Lake Forest with a new school record of 342.75! The swimmers swam well on Thursday. They fought to the very end. In the 400 free relay we were behind for most of the race. Senior Captain Cris Salido-Malpica caught us up so that Freshman Sam Foster had a fighting chance to pull out the win. Unfortunately, even though Sam put up a huge fight he got out touched and placed 2nd in the relay. The varsity swimmers traveled to Glenbrook South for the Titan relays. All the boys swam hard and showed great progress. During the half time show at the meet we placed 1st with the Basketball challenge. Ivan Morales came out with the winning shot off the diving board to the other end of the pool hitting the rim of the board. Blake Vander-Juedgt competed at the Hinsdale Central Diving Invite on Saturday. He placed 4th against some of the toughest competition he has faced this season.
