BOYS BASKETBALL
The Blue Devils had a big weekend. On Friday, they crushed Lake Zurich by 18 points. Naperville Central came to town Saturday. Warren beat them also with a 46-39 victory. The freshman team is continuing their winning ways as they remain undefeated for the season. On Wednesday, there is a big conference showdown with Stevenson at the Almond Rd. Campus. Over the weekend the varsity team will participate in the Wheaton Warrenville MLK Tournament.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
The Blue Devils varsity basketball had a couple of tough NSC losses this week against Lake Zurich and Stevenson. They lost to Stevenson 64-43. Jataia Harris led the way with 10 points. They lost a tough game to Lake Zurich 57-50. The Devils were led by Macy Kocen with a career high 24 points. Next up is Mundelein on Friday night at the Almond Rd. Campus.
BOYS BOWLING
It was quite a day Saturday at Bertrand Lanes for the IHSA Regional! For the first time in school history, the boys bowling team qualified as a team to the IHSA Sectional. They took 2nd place to advance. As a team, they rolled over 700 pins better than they have all season! Daniel Lauer led the way with a 1387 and was the Individual Regional Champion! Bradley Wilinski also had a career day. He shot his highest game ever with a 267. Ethan Kalin, Matt Alcala, Ardian Areanas, Nathan Garay, and Connor Bora all contributed to the outstanding day. Next up is the IHSA Sectional in Rockford on Saturday.
GIRLS BOWLING
The Varsity girls bowling team lost their first dual meet match in over 2 years, getting swept at NSC rival Lake Zurich, but rebounded with an amazing comeback against Zion-Benton. Trailing by 158 pins after the first game, the Devils won game 2 with a score of 786, then game 3 with a 911, to take the series and the match by 1 pin, 2433-2432! Junior Brianna Haith led the charge with a 603 series and a spectacular 242 in game 3. Senior Linsy Jante & Junior Mayerli Gil shot 182 & 185 respectively in game 3 to help edge the victory at 7-2. The Blue Devils head into the final two weeks of the regular season leading the NSC with 2 conference matches remaining. This past Saturday, the JV competed with a split-squad at the Bison JV invite hosted by Buffalo Grove at Arlington Lanes. With 7 rookie bowlers, both teams finished in the top half of their divisions and freshman Rachel Flores-Mangaran earned a 9th place medal against the whole field. Next up is Mundelein on Monday at home, then at Stevenson on Tuesday, with the Wauconda Varsity-only tournament this Saturday.
CHEERLEADING
The cheerleaders competed in the Grayslake North Invitational yesterday. They came away with their best score of the season! They placed 8th out of 21 teams. On Friday, the Devils go to Stevenson for the NSC Championships. On Saturday the travel to Fremd High School for their invitational.
DEVILETTES
The Devilettes competed in the NSC Championship on Thursday at Waukegan. The JV brought home a trophy with a 3rd place finish. The varsity finished in 5th place in a very competitive competition. On Saturday, they competed in the last regular competition of the season at Rolling Meadows High School. The varsity team finished in 13th place out of 27 teams. The JV squad finished their season with a 6th place finish out of 18 teams. Warren will host the IHSA Sectional next Saturday. It is an all day affair but Warren will perform at 1:03. It will surely be a great competition.
GYMNASTICS
Warren gymnasts competed in the Lake County Invitational on Saturday hosted by Mundelein. The Devils finished in 10th place overall. Tomorrow, they go back to Mundelein for meet against the Mustangs. On Friday, the JV travels to Riverside-Brookfield for an invitational.
BOYS SWIMMING
The Blue Devils had two NSC dual meets this week and won on both levels against Lake Forest and Zion-Benton. On Saturday, the varsity was at the Glenbrook South Relays. The boys brought home some hardware. The Devils tooks 3rd place in the following relays: The Backstroke Relay of Brian Tabourot, Dante Rinaldi, Nathan Heuberger, and Jack Foster. The Freshman Medley Relay of Robert Carlson, Evan Berndt, Ryan Sundberg, and Jake Snyder. The 400 Medley Relay of Brian Tabourot, Taylor Vander-Jeugdt, Austin Edmondson, and Jeremy Gunter. The following relays finished in fourth place: The 400 Free Sophomore Relay of Nathan Heuberger, Jarrett Lobitz, Dante Rinaldi, and Jack Tarantino. The 200 Medley Relay of Brian Tabourot, Taylor Vander-Jeudgt, Austin Edmondson, Leo Forney. The swim team’s next meet is on January 22nd against Cary Grove at the O’Plaine Campus.
WRESTLING
The wrestlers had a HUGE conference win Thursday as they crushed Stevenson! On Saturday, the varsity team hosted a quad against Rolling Meadows, Glenbard East, and Taft High Schools with a clean sweep of all 3 teams! The freshmen hosted their own tournament on Saturday with a 2nd place finish. This week, the varsity competes in the Lake County Invitational Friday and Saturday at Grant High School. The JV team goes to Waukegan on Saturday for their invitational. The freshmen will host a quad on Saturday at the O’Plaine Campus.
