BADMINTON
The Blue Devils went 2-0 in their dual matches this week. On Monday, Warren defeated Niles North 16-0! Every singles player won their match. They include: Shannon Sturt, Aneri Shah, Angela Kim, Ellen Corr, Prachi Patel, Neha Josh, Allison Armstrong, Vindhya Kalipi, Janelle Sison, Maddie Olms, Adrea Mestre, and Izzy Bogot. All of the double teams won also. They are: Kim/Corr, Patel/Sison, Sturt/Shah, Joshi/Armstrong, Olms/Kalipi, and Johnson/Gama. On Wednesday, the Devils defeated Lake Forest Academy 14-0. Winners in singles were: Shannon Sturt, Aneri Shah, Angela Kim, Ellen Corr, Neha Joshi, Allison Armstrong, Vindhya Kalipi, Janelle Sison, Shekinah Cortez, Sam Abear, Adria Mestre. In doubles. The teams of Cortez/Ho, Abear/Manilla, and Mestre/Cummings were all victorious. On Saturday. Warren travelled to Hoffman Estates for their Invitational. Allison Armstrong took second place in number 4 singles. Naha Joshi placed 2nd in number 3 singles. America Shah took 3rd in number 2 singles. Coming up for the Devils is the North Suburban Conference Championship on Friday and Saturday at the O’Plaine Campus. Come out and support Blue Devil Badminton!
BASEBALL
Warren varsity baseball continued their winning ways with a big conference win over Lake Forest and Wilmot High School. This brings the Devils win streak to 14 games! On Tuesday, the Devils defeated Lake Forest by a score of 6-1. Pitcher Dru Jasnoch threw a complete game giving up only 4 hits. Mikey Kocen was 2-3 with a double and 3 RBI’s. Gabe Schmitt was 2-3, Brian Rapanen was 2-2. On Thursday, Wilmot came to town and Warren downed them 5-2. Casey Cobe was 1-3 with a double. Gabe Schmitt was 1-2 with a double and 2 RBI’s. Mikey Kocen was 2-3. The winning pitcher was Bradley Vondruska (3-1-2). 6.2 innings, 6 hits, 7 K's, 0 ER's. Warren improves to 17-2 (5-0 NSC). Coming up this week for the Devils, a game at Zion on Monday. On Tuesday, the Devils will host Zion. On Wednesday, they play Lake Forest. On Saturday, Warren plays a home double header against St. Francis (WI) at 11 AM.
BOYS LACROSSE
The varsity had another great week. The Boys lacrosse team continued on their win streak with two conference games this past week against Lake Zurich and Stevenson. Warren had huge games this week from Nate Crawford, Charlie Herrick, Kevin McCarthy, and Clayton Bewick. The defense has been extremely stingy, averaging only two goals a game over the last four (less than four goals per game for the season). That is unheard of in lacrosse! This week the Devils have our toughest opponent to date, when Libertyville comes to town on Wednesday at 7pm. It is also Senior night!
GIRLS LACROSSE
This week the lacrosse teams played Stevenson. All the teams played hard. They worked on a lot of new skills in practices this past week that were used in the game. While the hard work didn’t reflect in the score, the coaches are really proud of how they have started working together as a unit. The Devils are very excited for the remainder of the season. Coaches and players alike are looking forward to games against Northside Prep (which is our Teacher Appreciation Night!) and Libertyville.
GIRLS SOCCER
Girls soccer began conference play this week with a decisive win over Waukegan 8-0. Athena McGinn and Emily Soriaga both scored 2 goals each. Cate Cullison, Morgan Liebau, Ella Skelton, and Elizabeth Weinberg all tallied a goal. Cate Cullison had 3 assists. Courtney Chomko had 2 assists. Amber Langosch, Ella Skelton, and Elizabeth Weinberg all had an assist. On Thursday, The Devils lost to Libertyville 4-1. The lone goal was scored by Cate Cullison and assisted by Courtney Chomko. Warren takes on Lake Forest at Lake Forest on Tuesday. Then on Thursday through Saturday, the Devils compete in the Glenbrook North Invitational. Warrens’ record is 6-5-1.
SOFTBALL
The Varsity Blue Devils continued their winning ways with two more big victories. On Tuesday, they trounced Stevenson 12-1. Caitin Britton, Ericka Jimenez, and Emily Craig all had home runs for the Devils. The JV team lost a grueling 11 inning game to Stevenson 6-5. The team played well and kept fighting. On Wednesday, the Devils crushed Lake Zurich 10-0. Caitlin Britton was the winning pitcher and had a grand slam home run to end the game in 6 innings. On Saturday, the varsity played a double header at Grayslake North. The Devils won 15-4 and 16-1. The JV lost to Lake Zurich 15-9. The JV II (freshman team) keeps working at it. On Saturday, they scored 16 runs, but lost 26-16. This week, Warren plays at Mundelein on Monday. They travel to Waukegan on Tuesday. On Friday, they play at Antioch. On Saturday, they host Lakes High School.
BOYS TENNIS
It was a busy week for boys tennis. The varsity lost a conference meet at Lake Forest on Tuesday. Collin Sorge and Colton Wood got a great win at #3 doubles. Garrett Porter & Nic Dietzen along with Jack Sutz and Seamus Mellican won exhibition matches against Lake Forest. The varsity swept Zion-Benton on Thursday losing just seven games in fourteen sets.
The varsity team won the Lockport Invite on Saturday with 51 points over second place Lockport with 31 points. The eight-team tournament had four flights. Cecil Mella finished in 2nd Place at Flight A singles. Sam Yoder won the Flight B Singles with wins over Prairie Ridge, Marian Catholic, Plainfield East and finally defeating teammate David Olander in the finals.
Alex Kuscsik and Tim Hidalgo took second in Flight A Doubles. Teammates Nathan Denny and Sohom Dash won two matches to finish in 7th place. Collin Sorge and Colton Wood continued their winning ways by winning the Flight B Doubles. They won three matches before meeting teammates Inman Glass and Keann Matias in the finals.
The JV team had wins over Deerfield and Wauconda during the week. They also won the Leyden quad on Saturday.
The varsity has their first home meet of the season this Tuesday as they host Lake Zurich at the Almond Campus.
BOYS TRACK
The Varsity team ran on Good Friday at Downers Grove South High School in the Bob Cohoon Invitational. Out of 14 teams, the Devils finished in 8th place overall against some great competition including the defending state champions, Nequa Valley. Some highlights from the meet were from our relay teams. The 4x8 team of Subry, Braza, Pasha, and Langevin took 2nd place. The 4x200 and 4x400 each finished in 4th place despite some very strong wind gusts. Individual top performances included Bryan Holland with a 4th place finish in the 800, Cyrus Braza 5th overall in the 400, and freshman Luke Wiley 6th in the 2 mile. Two Blue Devil distance runners participated in Palatine Distance Night on Saturday night. Luke Wiley took 2nd place in the freshman mile that hosted the top freshman in the state of Illinois. He ran a time of 4:31 and shaved 12 seconds of his personal best time and freshman school record tonight! Bryan Holland took 6th in his heat and 18th overall against the top 800 runners in the state. It was a good night for both athletes! On Tuesday, Warren hosts Mundelein and Zion. On Friday, the Devils participate in the Rolling Meadows Invitational.
GIRLS TRACK & FIELD
The Girls’ Track & Field Team had victories over Libertyville and Waukegan at both the Varsity and JV levels on Wednesday. This brings the Varsity dual record to 4-1 and the JV record to 5-0.On Saturday, the team traveled to Glenbard West for the very competitive Sue Pariseau Invitational. Scoring places (top 8) include:

This week, the Devils have a tri with Zion and Mundelein at Mundelein on Tuesday. On Thursday, they compete in the Lake County Meet at Lake Zurich.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
The freshmen B team lost to Lake Forest. The freshmen A team won both of their matches against Antioch and Lake Forest. The JV team had a busy week. They played 7 matches and won 2 of them. The varsity team also had a busy week. They played 7 matches, winning 3 and losing 4. Warren won a conference match against Lake Forest! They also beat New Trier in the tournament over the weekend for the first time in school history! This week, the Devils have a home match on Tuesday against Glenbrook South. On Wednesday, the Devils travel to Zion for a NSC match up.
BOYS WATER POLO
The Blue Devil water polo team went 1-1 this week beating Highland Park in a tough fought game 8-7 and lost to Stevenson. The JV water polo also went 1-1 beating Highland Park and losing to Stevenson. The Devils have one game this week, at Deerfield on Tuesday.
GIRLS WATER POLO
The girls water polo team had three games this week. Warren beat Highland Park in a hard fought game, 8-7. The Devils lost to Stevenson and Deerfield. Warren is off this week and don’t play until May 2nd.
